Fear of strength

MEDITATION MONDAY!

Generally when I go to weight train women and tell them we will be lifting weights heavier than 10lbs they get uncomfortable and tell me they do not want to get "big" and muscly.  

Physiologically this is very rare for women without the use of supplements, but the fear and misconception is real and can really hold them back from moving forward.
Many times we have a similar fear when it comes to our spiritual lives.  Listen to today's podcast to hear how fear maybe holding you back from knowing your strength.

Repetitions for the week

In weight training it would do very little good to go into the weight room and lift a weight 1 time (unless it was a very heavy weight) and leave.

Instead, you do several repetitions of the same movement.  
Similar to our lives.  The word of God is meant to go deep into our hearts, and change how we do life.  Each and everyday provides us opportunity to "lift weights" and each and every time we choose to use our power (Luke 10:19) we get stronger(Romans 8:4-8) , and our reflection starts looking less like us, and a lot more like His naturally(John 15). 

 That's a transformation worth living for!

The Ultimate Strength Builder

Part 2 - The struggle is real

My son still struggles to tie his shoes.  He tries really hard to do it all by himself but with a look of defeat comes to me for help every time.  I stare at the bumbled mess, untangle it and then lovingly walk him through the process again.  Each time he gets closer to doing it himself. 

Training with a completely different motive and mindset can be a challenge.  In theory it sounds great, but when put into practice we find our selfish motives hiding in the back of our minds.  Listen to todays podcast to hear about some of my struggles in surrender, and how our Father God is more than glad to continually help us in our learning process in any area of our life.

Training Program Pt 1

Now that we have assessed what we are really looking for within our desires, today we get the "plan".  Today's podcast is going to give you everything you need for moving forward with guaranteed success in everything you apply it to.  Including fitness and nutrition! 

Please take note.  Even the best personal trainer in the world can not give you the results you are wanting, they can only give guidance, encouragement, and instruction.  The success happens when the person training applies the instruction, accepts the encouragement and never gives up regardless of how many times they fall.

Consultation - Meditation Monday

If you've ever had a good personal trainer before, you know that the before you ever set foot on the gym floor you have a consultation. 

After sharing medical background, the most important question of your consultation is, "What are your goals?"  It's impossible for a trainer to help you achieve your goals, if you don't have anything your working towards or even a general idea.  Once the goals have been identified the trainer can then do their job of gearing you in the right direction to achieve exactly what you said you wanted. 

But often, we miss the mark by setting goals.
